Summer home for a dentist and his family on a fantastic site on Barlow Lake. Owners wanted a walkout without the walkout look, so I created a canyon from the lower level to the lakefront. Finished in cedar shingles and clear cedar trim, the design merges happily with the wooded site. I general contracted this house, as well. Four bedrooms, 2.5 baths.
The idea here was to create a 'walkout' basement in the home without it looking like a three story high building. We fashioned a new canyon in the terrain of the site allowing lower level access for canoes, water toys, and other outdoor toys. This cottage/house was sided with cedar shingles and clear cedar trim.
